I will be running the betting pools for the darkfall origins tournament next Saturday (11/07/09). The pools will be based around racetrack odds with odds calculated by taking the bets on an individual against the total pool. I will be keeping running updates on bets on this thread throughout the week doing daily updates on odds.

*Rules* To make a bet you must contact me ingame: Boldric Thorson and register your bet. Bets will be taken from now up until the start of the tournament in any amount. The only bets that will be taken in advance will be for the overall winner of the tournament (Bets on individual rounds in the finals will be available during the tournament itself and will be open when the brackets for the finals are known). Please remember that odds will be changing depending on the bets thrown on an individual up until the very beginning of the tournament but the odds when the tournament starts will be final. That means if you put 100k down on a person depending on what is put on other people you might severely change the odds outside your favor.

To have a fully registered bet you must not only notify me but also deliver the gold before the tournament starts. Any bets made without the gold being in my hand before the tournament starts is null and void. If you make a bet prior to the tournament starting and the player you bet upon cannot make the tournament your money will be refunded in full. If the player you bet on enters the tournament and starts one duel your bet is fully locked in and will not be refunded or changed even if the person has to drop out halfway thru the tournament.

Payouts will be paid in full after the winner of the tournament is finalized. If you aren’t on at the end of the tournament you can whisper me in game for payment when you are online and we will meet in Mar Shral.

*Odds Example* When you see odds on this page here is how it will be addressed if you see for example Boldric Thorson……20-1 odds that means for every 1 gold you bet you will get 21 gold back if you win (your original 1 gold bet and then 20 gold as your winnings) and if you see 1-20 odds that means for every 20 gold you bet you will get 21 gold (20 gold being your original bet and 1 gold for your winnings).

*Clearing up Odds*Seems there was some confusion in the thread in the general forums the odds at the time of your bet are meaningless (other than to give you an indicator of how well that person might do based upon the amount of bets put on him/her) the true odds of your bet won’t be known until the very start of the tournament. I am not a bookie in real life and don’t know how to do running odds calculations without giving the house a huge advantage which I don’t want to do as I want the full payout to go out. In this way I risk none of my money as the house and everyone gets a full chance at a full payout.
