Well, almost… they are currently patching the NA server, but EU1 is up at ready. So far reports are fairly limited, but seems the mages are crying, the melees / archers are excited, and pve has gotten…harder. Im looking forward to seeing how this shakes things up, and will throw up some editorials over the next few days.

I gotta give it to AV, they have really stepped it up in the communications department. Hopefully next week will be a spotless release.

Anyone who has played UO back in the day, back when it was good remembers player keeps, how cool they were, how bad you wanted one, etc. Well it looks like darkfall will be adding keeps in the expansion.

AC1 also had player housing very similar to Darkfall, and one of my complaints recently has been that house size doesnt seem to affect house bind size. In AC1 my small guild lived out of a villa and all of us could recall to it, was a lot of fun. Well keeps should offer very similar functionality with up to 10 bind slots!

For those of you transfering to NA from the EU server and not wanting to have tot redownload the entire client, try this fix found here.

1. Download the NA Lobby from this link

2. Install it on a different folder than your EU client, such as Darkfall US.

3. Go to your EU client installation folder and copy the following files from the data folder:
dfdata.sfai
All the dfdata_00XX.sfad files
sfmiddleware.dll

4. Go to your NA client installation folder and paste the files in the Data folder.

5. Log in the NA Lobby and let it patch if needed.

You should now be able to log in and play.

AV’s currently offering a 30% discount on six month subscriptions, taking it down to just a little over 10 bucks a month. Not a bad deal for those who plan on playing long term.

As a returning player, I found Sinfolmatt’s post today on the darkfall forums relieving a lot of what he talks about is the main reasons why folks quit… particularly about the pve issues and the long grind for magic schools. So this morning around 8am CST Tasos announced that the darkfall transfers were live, for the next few weeks all of us NA players exiled to the EU server can get back home for free! The only drawback is we have to wait till the next downtime, but that beats the hell out of waiting for transfers to come through period.

First time ever hundreds of players are hoping for a server crash.
