This time last year I was reading Darkfall forums all over the net. Not because I anticipated the title, but because I laughed at those that believed it wasn’t vaporware. Well I was wrong and Darkfall launched, as the news of hacking and a staggered launch came out I laughed again but lost interest in in the title.

Fast forward to November, no new MMORPGs, everything else on the market is at best meh or at worst a stagnant turd. I decided to pop in to the DFO forums and was surprised. Not only was Aventurine still solvent but Darkfall was still live! I looked for a reason not to try it and the only reasons people were giving were reasons for me to play. Full loot PvP, FPS combat system, open PvP system, the more they complained the more I wanted to try it!

This article was based on interviews with members at the siege. My source will remain annonymous as he wasnt authorized to make an “official” statement.

Last night SPA sieged Mari with about 45 players, wagering Jeradan. They moved to the city and began asset destruction. Once everything was smashed, they diverted 25 of their force to Jeradan for defense.

TRA attacked Jeradan twice, and was quickly dispatched both times. While TRA was attempting Jeradin, a counter force of 35 swept into Mari and pushed the SPA groups out.

SPA reformed at Jeradin and once vulnerability started, were moving in on the town when their scouts informed them that 20 TRA were still in the area, and there were over 100 defending the high ground. With mostly zealot defending the climb point to the mountain.

A few minor skirmishes happened, but being out numbered 2 to 1 SPA didnt press the engagement and the hired mercs were more than happy to sit out the timer with no pvp.

In the end 420 got to keep their city, but did they keep their dignity?

Recently I got a submission from an anonymous source via the website, who I assume was from the blood alliance. After getting the report I contact the DFWA alliance and tried to get an interview with someone there for their version of the story.

Its pretty much common knowledge since the transfers from EU->NA that blood has had a hard on for Ruby. The place has been turned into a war zone as the DFWA alliance has rallied to stop them.
